Many thanks to El Toro, MNGB and others that responded to my subject problems.
My body was down for awhile before I was able to install a coil on the outside of the engine. It took a little to find a place so the hood would close.
I added a new condenser and breaker points.
NEW PROBLEM: The adjusting screw would not turn. Had a closed end wrench on the nut and still could not turn the screw. Took it off, placed in vise, held the turning part with pliers and still could not turn the screw. Had two more breakers, tried the screw and both turned. Installed, adjusted points, wired it and it started quickly. WOW what a relief.
NOTE: Anyone installing a breaker should check the adjusting screw first.
Would like to return the breakers to B&S but don't know how or where to send it.
Again thanks to all for your input, Fred
