Damaged Crank on Kohler K341

Hello, I have a kohler K341 16 horse that the rod seized to the crank and somewhere I read an easy way to remove the aluminum material that has stuck to the rod journal on the crank. Any ideas?
Thanks, Dave C

Muriactic acid will remove the aluminum and not damage the rest. Be sure to rinse well with water after, and then apply some oil.

Once you have all the aluminum removed, take the crank to a machine shop. Get them to check the dimensions of the throw and if it is OK, then have them polish it.

I've used muriactic acid and it works good but be careful it is a strong acid so use safety equipment and thoroughly clean after use and oil or grease the areas as rust will start overnight.
