I have a lady with a late model cub cadet, not sure of model but I can make a 30 mile drive and get it, may not mater what has happened is it has a 42" timed mower deck, and it broke and threw the deck drive belt, the one off the engine not the toothed blade drive belt, when it did that it took off the spring that is on the end of the blade engagement cable going up to the control, also I found another spring that I believe is called 'extension spring" .50 x 4.35 that was on the left side of the deck as your sitting on the machine, I need to know exactly where those 2 springs go, a pic if possible, I have the manual, but its not very helpful I hooked the blade engagement spring to where it looked like it had been, but it was wrong, it worked when the deck was in the lowest position but when the deck was raised, it engaged the blades, not good.

Same thing happened to my son when he put the table back on my mower. He hooked the spring in a hole too far to the right. (Looking in from the side where the control cable hooks up) The correct hole is roughly in the center of the flat bar area. Hook the spring up first, then stretch cable over to the keeper and install odd looking bow-tie cotter key. (I hate those)
