I do know there is a classifieds but not everyone spends much time there, I know I dont. Im trying to put a John Deere lt166 back together and the carb is destroyed. Anybody know of a good used carb for a vertical shaft V twin briggs, model #303777. 16 horse. Mother deere part #lg808255, superceded by part #am129925, all NLA. I cant find any numbers on the carb but has "assam" or something like that on the casting. I see new on the web but trying to save the gentleman some money. Thanks in advance.

What is wrong with your carb?

New is about $180. Ebay are also about $180. Are you close to Michigan? I know of a good mower junkyard.

Briggs & Stratton part numbers.
That engine used 2 different carbs.
808728-Used after date code 98062600.
807639-Used before date code 92040700.

I have no clue what carb they used from 1992 to 1998! Maybe someone else can explain.

One ear was broken off where the float hinges when it got here. Thanks for the link to the parts listings. I see it online in a couple different spots but was hoping for a used one. Thanks again.
