ok got another prob with the old dixon, still something wrong with wiring but it'll fire up an run!! when i try to engage deck (it has an electric clutch) it kills the motor. there are 2 connectors on the bottom of the switch, i unhooked the connector that is going to a relay an now it turns on deck with killing motor. nothing else is going to the relay, 1 wire from the deck switch, other wire is looped back into the relay like a jumper? the wiring diagram i have shows a jumper but there is also another wire going to ignition switch. should i forget the relay since it works with it unhooked or will doing that burn up the deck clutch? (which i dont want to do)

Working from memory here, so double check my thoughts...

I think the relay is part of the safety system, no crank with the PTO on, kill engine if seat lifted.

If it engages the PTO, it should be good. The only thing that could hurt the PTO is if the charging system isn't working. Might double check the battery voltage, PTO engaged, engine throttled up should be around 14 vdc. Just be careful! The safetys are bypassed.

well it works like it should with the rely unhooked, motor runs great an pto engages an deck works great an it mows just fine. guessing the rely is part of safety stuff so no big deal there cause seat has been replaced an no switch on that anymore.
