Shaw rear end oil

Working on my R8 Shaw and just pulled the plug out of the rear end. To my surprise it just oozed out VERY slowly. Like a liquified grease.
I"m told this is a Ford rear end that Shaw bought for their tractors. Is this thick goo the correct wt lube for this.
I was planning to re-fill it with 80w90.

Tom,
I would fill with kerosene and run around the yard a bit. Drain and fill with 140. If you plan on using during cold months then 90wt.

Man that go looks like it fermented in an old secret cave some where. Go easy with the Kero as it doesn't lube too well. It will clean things up, but don't go crazy. Another thing to try is the OO grease that Snapper mowers use in their rears. That green slimmy grease is neat stuff. Most likely 90w will do ya.
