Case Black Knight Garden Tractor?

How can you tell if i Case Black Knight Garden Tractor is original and what size is it by the engine size??

Does it have a brass tag? How much are they worth in good running condition

Thanks Jeff

The Black Knight Demonstrator tractors were available to dealers from 1971 to 1973. A dealer could order any model of garden or lawn tractor with any optional equipment and Case would build it for them.

It is the black hood and fenders, along with the unique Demonstrator decals that distinguish a BK from regular models. There is no brass plaque like you see on the big Ag tractors and there is no record of serial numbers for Black Knight or Golden Demo tractors.

If the tractor you are looking at has never been restored, then chances are it is an original BK. You have to use your gut feeling when examining the tractor in person. If it looks righteous, then it probably is but if you see things like overspray or decals that do not look correct, then it might be a fake.

Value is not easily determined, as you might think. It would depend on the model of the tractor, how it is equipped, condition and location.

I have enclosed my e-mail address with this post. Get the serial number off the dash tower plaque along with the model number. Take some photos and send it all to me and I will try and help you further.

Tom is correct on the Black Knight identification.. for some strange reason Case did not Brass Tag the GT's like they did the Ag tractors.. And from what little research I have done on the BK's they were pulled off the line at random, so there is not any serial number way of telling.. Keep us informed of what you find!!
