put it away for about when I took it out put battery in it started right up put in forward it right off them it stopped put it in reverse it backs up slow put it in forward it will just creep forward can not find a book about it would like any help you hade thanks paul

Check eng-trans drive belt may be worn/streched & need replacement,check that idler pulley arm that maintains tension on belt & operated by clutch operates freely,may be binding/sticking due to rust/dirt also check that return spring for arm not disconnected or broken.

The gem16 is actually a rebranded ariens ht16,do a google search for ariens ht16+owners manual,owners manual & service manual may be avail as a free download online.
