Wisconsin engine won't run past slow idle

I have a model AKN Wisconsin engine, that won't run any faster than slow idle.
Valves have been lapped and adjusted, magneto has been rebuilt, and hot fat spark, Carburetor cleaned and adjusted.
When I throttle it up the engine dies, but will run on slow idle.
Whats wrong?

Check the fuel flow from the fuel tank to the carburetor. Should have a full stream of gas.
Also open the main jet adjusting screw. Is a fuel filter being used? Some of those filters can not be used on gravity flow systems. Hal

Had same thing last month on wisc. Just overhauled, rings valves the works. Turned out mag had good spark (blue) when checked. sent mag to good rebuilder. It had crack in coil. Now run great. Good luck with yours. I mean geet klck weth urin!! lol

I had the mag rebuilt and its hots as a fire cracker. valves are good, carb cleaned and good, but doesn't respond to any adjustment on the high idle valve.

Sure no adjustment on timning, just always wonder how close a mark is stamped in tin cowling.Just a thought, some of the mags will work both directions. Internal gears have mark C for clockwise and A for counterclockwise. Had a local fellow rebuilt his mag and assembled it with mark incorrect on internal gear. He didnt realize could be reversed, therefore only looked for one time mark. It ran but would not pick up speed. Not trying to be a know it all , just making suggestions. Save all the old chevy V8 small blocks you can, when the south rises again we are going to use them for fighter plane engines.
