Can someone tell me if you are supposed to be able to see the anti-freeze in the radiator when you take off the cap? This is on a 345 with 18hp. and the radiator lays down flat on top of the motor. The anti-freeze level in the reservoir never changes when hot or cold. Thank you.

I am not very familiar with water cooled vertical shaft Kawasakis, but I would think you should be able to see antifreeze in the radiator at the cap. I am thinking the cap you are talking about is under the screen above the radiator, about the highest point on the engine. I suggest you fill it up with whatever color antifreeze mix is in there now. (50/50) Any extra should be forced into the overflow tank when the engine heats up.

You may also find a leak when you fill it up. . .

I am guessing you have checked your oil and it is proper color and not over the full mark. Coolant makes the oil look milky and sometimes leaves a white gravy film colored film.

Remember, you don"t screw the dipstick down to check the oil.
