I have a cub cadet 1541 and i'm having issues with it. It just started a couple of days ago. It starts and runs perfect for about an hour or so and then it just dies with no warning. It has to sit and cool for a couple of hours before it will start again. Has anyone had this happen and if so, what was the cause? Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated... Thank you!!

Check the fire to your sparkplug asap when it quits running. Get a wiring diagram for your tractor that shows your ignition, it may have electronic. Hal

Does it have a Kowe engine? You can have a bad Heater. They ain"t cheap and you MUST have it. It is a variable resistor for the coil and you can blow your coil if you try to by pass it.

I used to have a Deere 212 with a Kohler engine that would do this every now and then when it was real hot. I always surmised that it was a valve issue because the engine had no compression afterwards. Let it set a while and it would start up and run just fine. Kind of scared me the first time it did it - I though the engine was trashed.

Other possible causes:

fuel solenoid on carburetor overheating.

malfunctioning fuel pump, or problems with fuel supply.

Have you checked for fire to your plug? Do this asap before the engine cools. If you have no fire it's probably an ignition problem such as a weak coil. If there's still a good hot fire to your plug, it's probably a fuel issue. Disconnect the fuel line at the carb and see if there's
a full stream of gas from the tank. If that carb has a main jet adjusting screw try opening it several turns. Hal
