cc 1250 hydro

grandson's 1250 hydro transmission works perfect for about 20 minutes then the neutral position starts to change and progressively gets worse until it acts as if it's trying to drive both directions at the same time stalling the engine,let it sit over night it will work fine again for about 20 minutes what can cause this.

Sounds like a mechanical failure in progress. A tear down will probably reveal the problem.

There is no way a hydro could go in different directions at the same time. Pull the cover in front of the seat and check for loose or worn linkage. Check your oil level and check the oil for metal, if the oil looks like it has metal in it, then get out the check book.
