Can anyone give me information on following problem.
When starting tractor engine starts to run and keeps running even when I turn key to off,I can still hear gas being pumped into carberator thus flooding engine. Bad ignition switch? or starter? Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
John

To elaborate a little, when you turn the ignition switch to the off position, the ignition is supposed to be grounded and the fuel is supposed to be shut off. The ignition grounding is done with one wire that comes from the engine but you would need a wiring diagram to figure out which one. The fuel shutoff is done by a solenoid on the carburetor, and you would need the wiring diagram to figure out which wire is supposed to do it.

The solenoid itself is a frequent problem, and a good place to start looking. After that, check the wiring all over for kinks or scrapes in the insulation. If that doesn't work, you need to start checking for proper voltage connection by connection with a multimeter.

Looks like the white wire is the mag kill ground, yellow is the fuel shut off power.
