John Deere Gator HPX sluggish

A friend of mine (I thought he was a friend) asked me if I would like to work on his Gator. It looks a little complicated to me. He bought the Gator used and says it has always been cold-blooded and has gradually become sluggish and no power. I checked air cleaner, fuel filter and it has a new fuel pump. Does anyone have any experience with these or any suggestions on where else to start looking.

No personal experience, but might check the valve clearance, open the carb and give it a spray cleaning. While it's off, look the intake over for leaks.

Some ATVs have a spark arrestor which can clog, but that's usually a 2 stroke problem, worth a look though.
