I have a Sears 10xl from the 1970(?) It has an orange white paint scheme. But, the shroud on the outside is missing, I need to know what Tecumseh model it is. Thanks in advance.

The original engine would have been a Tecumseh HH100 a 10 hp cast iron model.

Does your 10XL have a belt driven Starter/Generator, or does it have a bendix type starter?? I have an orange shroud from a 1971 10XL parts tractor. Prior to that, the 10XL s had a starter/ generator, and the shroud was a bit different. --- John

Click on link below,if you're lucky sears may still list, enter tractor mod#,if a parts list comes up see if they list a mod# for eng starting with 143,if they do search that mod# on sears website, they might still have a parts listing online for eng,if they do have a listing pn shown are tecumseh part numbers OR if all you need is flywheel cover goto ebay & search tecumseh hh100 flywheel cover, also try tecumseh hh120 as flywheel cover is the same for both eng, what you really need is the spec# of eng,sn is just a mfg date code.

If yours uses the Bendix type starter, model# 143.629022 should work. PART# 33044A-BLOWER HOUSING, price,$78.99 still available through Sears.(Probably a lot cheaper somewhere else.) This information from a 1974 Sears Shop Manual. As I stated, this is for the engines with the newer Bendix style starter. If yours has the old style starter/generator belt driven unit, I don't have that information readily available.

Goto ebay & search tecumseh hh100,one seller listing complete sheetmetal sets for hh100 with starter/generator or bendix type starter for $30 a set & free shipping, less than many want for cover alone.
