Dixon zero turn hydros

I have a Dixon 4515B zero turn mower. I am looking for a part for the hydro on it. The Dixon parts diagram that I found online just shows the hydro as a complete assembly and no longer available. Does anyone know what kind of hydros are on this unit? Of course, the problem surfaced on Saturday afternoon when everyone is closed up. I am just needing an oil seal on the side of the hydro. Does anyone here know if individual parts like this would be available for this unit?

Why not take the seal to a local hydraulics repair shop? They will measure it and look in their catalog of seals for a direct replacement.

Actually, I've had good luck at local auto parts stores. As long as they still have paper catalogs, from Chicago Rawhide, and are willing to look. Measure the shaft OK, bore ID, and take the old seal with you. It may even have a makers number on it, so remove carefully.

The hydro should have its" own maker"s tag on it.

Hint: If you don"t see it on the one that is leaking, see if the numbers are still on the other one.

Hopefully it is not an Eaton or some other make that is hard to get parts for.

Sometimes, when hydros start leaking, the real reason is that the internal parts are worn to the point where the case seals cannot contain the increased pressure. Just replacing the seal may not be a long-lasting repair.
