John Deere 210 Manual PTO Belt Routing

Howdy,

I have been messing with my ,new to mMe, 1978 JD 210. It has a 39" 3 blade deck. I noticed the other day that the belt from the deck to the PTO is routed around the PTO pulley with the narrow part of the Vee Belt facing outward. This seems wrong to me as I would think the belt should have the narrow part of the Vee making full contact with the PTO pulley. The mower engages OK. HMM
Anybody have pictures of their belt routing?

The 210 model seems to cover a lot of different options, no luck knowing which diagram is correct.

But as a rule, if the pulley has a V shape groove, the belt should be narrow side down in the groove.

The only pulley that would run on the back of the belt would be a flat pulley. Flat pulleys will only be used for tensioning and guiding the belt, not applying or driving a load.
