OK here I go on this one. Have a big beast of a Husqvqrna with a 22hp Briggs Twin V engine. While mowing the engine would sound almost as if it is constipated or it wants to burp. I asked a couple of very good repair guys who have big repair places and several experianced repair men. Also asked at the area parts house. Everyone comes up the same with :you need the little "O" rings in the carb:. One guy even gave me two little rings and said these should do it.
WELLLL.... $42.00 latter for the correct carb kit from Briggs and take her all apart and very carefully clean, ETC. etc. It ain,t gonna WORK!!! When you take the bowl off there is a little white tube assembly that has a tiny set of orifices in it. These little puppys are where these little rings should go. Well guess what, they were not nearly small enough. The rings that were on there are now little black crumbs. I now have a worthless carb!!!!!
Monday I am going to get on the phone to Briggs tech support and very nicely blow a fuse! The two little orifices should be press fit and or they should give you the little O rings. I will up date this after I call Briggs. By the way , the kit is made in the USA and has plenty of gaskets and sponge seals Etc Just nothing for those two little brass orifices. SCREEEEEAM!! Let you folks know later. Jeffcat

Good luck! I have read several comments lately about Briggs carburetor parts not fitting. Must be someone new at the helm. BTW, "Nikki" doesn't sound like the carb was made in the USA. If they aren't careful they will join Tecumseh.

Taking your flustration out on tech support isn't going to cure carb problem,guy/gal on other end of line is there to try and help you with a problem and are like most of us just trying to make a living & you also have to remember they didn't design/build carb and carb is a complete assembly bought by briggs and they have no control over design/quality of carb, their main concern is price per unit when buying several thousand/more from mfg.

If you're looking for personal satifaction or possible carb redesign go after carb mfg & the designers that work for them.

If you Google Parts Tree. Com, you can look up your engine by serial # and get an exploded diagram of the carb. They may have the parts you need..

If you have a set of calipers, or a good eye and a scale, measure the ID of the casting and OD of the tube. Do a search for the oring size chart, find the number of the oring you need, order a package from McMaster Carr. Buna or Nitrile are compatible with gasoline.

Nikki Carbuteturs have been around a long time.
I have seen them in several applications. I lke them because they are reliable, easy to adjust, and easy to rebuild. They are made in Japan. They are a huge company in caruburetors, fuel injection. If you have a Japan brand car, there is a good chance it has some Nikki components

I haven't been very active in the repair field for the past five or six years, and am not familiar with the Nikki brand. Thanks for the reply.

constipated thats new one you sure you do not have a plugged muffler. the tower part in the carb you talking about is availble as part. no big deal. calling briggs not going solve your problem. carb is not worthless you just need the correct parts. good luck. have you actually had someone look up the correct parts for you
