Kohler 28 EFI

I got a kohler 28 EFI, on a dixie chopper, about 5 years old, it has an oil leak, don't think it's the cooler lines, or the bottom crank seal(pulley is dry on top). Just tightened up the remote drain hose so I don't think it's that either. Question is, has anyone ever had a pressure sending unit go up on this motor? It appears to be seeping through the sending unit.

Very possible for the sending unit to leak. They can rupture internally, and are easily damaged during installation.

I had that problem on my old 1981 Mercury Cougar.
It took an odd size socket to remove the sending unit. I think it was 25/32. Hal

It could be the sender.

Also, on some Command engines there is an oil passage through the sump gasket flange directly behind the cooler and sometimes it can leak there. I remember working on one, but don"t remember all the details. We had to clean it up real good in that area, start it, and it started oozing oil back behind and above the cooler adapter.

Fingered it out, it was the sending unit, and it was loose, causing the leak. While looking around behind the oil filter and sending unit, I found a bolt, about 5/16" X 2" long. Turned out to be one of the motor mounting bolts. My question is, how does a bolt that sticks up through the block of the motor (head down, threads up), drop out, then find it's way up and over the motor mounting surface, to lodge itself behind the oil filter? No scars to indicate it hit anything moving! Oh well leak is stopped, anyway...
