Here is a question. My numbers are 14070482 and the Kohler has 14hp K321AS 60410. I think the tractor is 1982? We got an expert out there? I love this big brute of a machine and will rebuild the mandrels this summer. When you flip it into HIGH gear this baby really moves!Jeffcat

I have a 222 case, think mines a 1981 if I remember right, I agree when you put it in high they really move, have a deck from a 446 on mine, big deck but it handles it fine. Got any pictures of yours, wouldn't mind seeing it.

Check the sn on eng,if an eight digit sn & first three numbers are 120-129 eng an 82,if numbers 110-119 eng an 81,if 130-139 eng a 83,this method will date tractor within one yr IF orig eng.

Your tractor is the 14th 224 built after the arrival of 1985. There were lots of them built in the three months previous though. The 200 Series were notoriously fast in high range. Faster than the Hi Wheel models.

And one more thing.

Ingersoll-Rand is a totally different company. Your tractor was made by Ingersoll Equipment in Winneconne, Wisconsin.
