Got my zero turn

Finally bit the bullet and bought a zero turn mower (got a little bit of inheritance money). I bought one of those Bad Boy Elite 60” jobs when they went on sale at Tractor supply. I did a lot of shopping and even at the Exmark and Toro dealers they told me it didn’t make sense for me to spend the big bucks on a professional grade machine for a 4 acre residence. In many cases the engines (Kohler) and transmissions (Hydro-Gear) were the same but their residential models were still pricy. I think I got the most bang for the buck and anyway I figured if my piece-of-tin MTD tractor could last for 25 years this new one would last longer than me. I put on one of those Grammer suspension seats but have to admit that if I hadn’t gotten it so dirt cheap it wouldn’t have been worth it (the basic seat was pretty soft).
I almost didn’t believe it when some of you folks said I would be able to cut my mowing time into less than half but you were right big time. A 6 hour job now only takes me 1.7. Could probably do it a bit faster but I would have to do some serious rolling to smooth the yard out in spots to prevent from getting pitched off.

I looked at the badboy mowers at TSC, Only thing that occurred while looking (I never ran one) is that the muffler on the one I saw, was mighty thin looking, compared to the one on my 28 EFI Kohler, on the dixie. Still, it didn't look bad, overall, and if you are not using it hard, and trailering it a lot, likely it will outlast your mowing career. Good luck!
