IH Cub Cadet 105 idler pulley set up

I just picked up a IH Cub Cadet 105. The idler pulleys going up to the engine pto clutch are my problem I think as the deck belt comes off the deck when engaging. My question is, those idler pulleys are bolted to a flat bar that goes to a shaft(3/8 or so rod). That shaft is worn badly. Is that shaft suppose to be welded at both sides of the frame (mule drive?)?
Mine is and I need to replace it and maybe one of the pulley flat bar that connects to the shaft. I have searched everywhere and can"t find an answer or diagram. The short heavy spring that goes from the hole in the front bottom is a mystery too. It says the other end goes to the adjustment rod. I don"t see that. I"m wondering if this could be a frankencub. Any help is appreciated. Skyler

Cub Cadet Mule drives aren't that hard to find on Flea Bay, just need to figure out if you're wide frame or narrow, I'd think a 105 is a narrow frame tractor.

My round bar is welded to the mule drive at each end? Is it suppose to be that way? Must I replace the whole mule drive? Thanks, Skyler
