F510 smoking engine

Got one of these running today that a customer brought in -he had it running for 8 minutes then it quit - he said
no oil on the dipstick - topped it up - there wasn't a drop of gas in the carb bowl - the fuel pump wouldn't work until I poured gas through it - got it running pretty decent for 10 minutes then it started to blow smoke
stopped and checked compression - 140 psi - is the oil coming through the intake valve bore?
had it running for 40 minutes then it quit - I think some dirt from old filter and fuel line is in the carb -
main question is the smoking cause?
thanks Ken

Remove air filter cover & check filter houseing/filter element for oil in either, you might have a leaking, sticking or stuck open crankcase breather valve.

Two other possible causes,if eng has a mech fuel pump same going bad/or bad & pulling oil from crankcase or a leaking valve cover & oil dripping on muffler.

That makes a lot of sense - I first had it running when the fuel pump wasn't working and no smoke
Then after I got the pump to pull gas from the jerry can and then it started to blow smoke
Thanks for that!!!!
