John Deere 110 fuel issue

Bought a John Deere 110 went to get it running, it will start and run for a few seconds and shut off, I know its a fuel issue because it runs on either, anyways it doesn't have a fuel pump don't think it did when it was new, maybe it did, its a k181 kohler, but I think it might need a fuel pump because it gets some fuel but not enough to keep it going, and fuel tank where fuel comes out is lower than the carb so fuel isn't running down hill the whole ways, what do you guys think.

You may want to look at some pictures of John Deere 110's to get an idea what has been done to yours. The fuel tank SHOULD be higher than the carburetor if both are in their stock positions.

You can get an electric fuel pump with a regulator at a NAPA store. You want no more than 2 psi output.

There both in stock poistens, still has factory k181 kohler and original carb, put in new carb kit, and fuel tank is original and is mounted where it should be, only thing I changed is I took off sediment bowl as it was leaking terrbile.

It's NOT a matter of what anyone THINKS, when you can look at the parts catalog for FREE @ www.jdparts.com.

I'm ASSUMING you have a "round-fendered" pre- SN 100,00 unit.

Did you try pulling the fuel line from the carb and see if there is good flow? There may be a screen inside the tank or the fitting could be clogged with rust.

You removed the sediment bowl... Did you replace it or add a filter? Disturbing it may have let trash enter the carb. You can drop the bowl and see if you get good flow through the needle and seat.

Yes there was already a fuel filter, I put new one on and new fuel line, and there is no screen I had gas tank off and its clean no rust., its getting some fuel but not enlighten to keep it going

which inline fuelfilter did you use,if its for fuel pump then thats probably your problem. try running it without in line fuel filter see what happens.

If you haven't replaced your fuel line, you might check it. I have seen them separate inside and collapse. They look fine on the outside. Like someone else said, be sure and check the screen inside the tank.

Just put a little one on like I run on my 5hp pump motors, I've tried without filter does same thing runs for short minute then stops and will keep doing the same thing
