I am helping a friend who is the original owner of a beautiful Allis Chalmers B-12 mower in the most beautiful condition I have ever seen for a 47 year old 1 owner machine. The owner still has the original sales receipt and all manuals. The original paint still shines and waxes out beautifully. It was a working machine up until now so obvious wear shows on the deck of course. It's a 42" deck, includes a 36" snow blower, and was meticulously maintained by its original owner as you can see. It has all original parts throughout. I am not able to afford to buy this from him or I would in a heartbeat! This is a very unique opportunity for the right person and I'm hoping I can get some direction from this great list. There is nothing in it for me, I just want to be sure this collectors piece gets into the hands of someone who can really appreciate its uniqueness. I have many pics to offer if anyone is interested. If anyone can offer assistance on how to help my friend sell his tractor i would appreciate it!,

The first thing he needs to ask himself is if he really wants to sell it. Your description tells me he is probably asking way too much and it will never sell. Remember, it is not a 69 COPO Yenko 427 Camaro, it is a very common garden tractor. The B series was also built as Simplicity models. They built millions and three quarters of them still work. If you are planning to ask a realistic price, then it will sell fast. By realistic I mean start at $800 and work down. If it is as you say, that would be a good price for the package. Craigslist is littered with old "rare" garden tractors listed with rediculous asking prices in the thousands. Gardentractortalk.com would be your best bet for getting top dollar.

No matter how nice and original it is, to 99% of people out there it's still just an old tractor. It doesn't have shiny green or orange paint. hydraulics, 3 pt, cab w/AC, 4wd, diesel power and isn't a status symbol among the other McMansion owners. If he found a collector it might be worth a grand or more if it's really primo. To most people, and that includes those of us that love them, it's still not going to be worth an arm and a leg.
