JD LX188 ser#MOL188X096420. Was running fine mowing last weekend. Today, cannot get throttle to move more than 2/3 of full way, can't see anything binding the cable linkage, but cannot get it to move all the way to choke position. Next:
Engine does not seem to run at full speed, if I push the the throttle past second mark (2/3 throttle), it chokes out, but can' t push very far.
Trying to engage mower deck, kills engine, really seems like engine is not running at full throttle, based on above and listening to engine sound. Each cylinder is firing, as I unplugged each lead, and it changed engine speed and sound. Stumped. Possible fuel filter is restricting fuel, but why throttle travel reduced. NOthing binding on mower deck spindles, checked that, as I clean them off after mowing.
Moving throttle linkage at carb area, does not really change engein speed other than choking out engine "slightly" . stumped. Carb? Dirt in fuel? But why throttle problem?
