kohler sv530,17 hp oil switch

LED on dash says check oil,changed filter,lots of oil cant find sentry switch anywhere,no external ports,looked on kohler website,all differant engines,any ideas where to look or repair
 
Then do as the lite says,check eng oil level.

If oil level not low check owners manual,depending on make/type of equipment eng on same may have an eng monitoring system that is factory set & monitors eng hrs between oil/filter changes & has to be reset after each oil/filter change,in addition to indicating low oil pressure lite may also turn on as a reminder for eng maint.required.

Other possible causes of lite on ,plugged/restricted oil filter or oil cooler,stuck/bad oil pressure sw,worn oil pump,internal wear/problem in eng causeing loss of oil pressure or a problem in wiring harness on equipment.
 
Go back to kohler website & download service/repair manual for courage series eng,if eng has oil pressure sw or oil pressure monitor system remote mounted off eng sw will be located on oil filter adapter or close to same on block.
 
hi joe ,thanks for the info,I did just that,there is no sentry switch,and I cant find anywhere to reset dash LED,it flashes voltage # of hours and CHG OIL,I removed battery lead to see if it will reset?
 
hi guys,I found the fix for my kohler engine,you keep the key on for 5-20 minutes and it will reset the LED,I am told this will happen every 50 hrs,to change oil,Thanx to all.
