Cub cadet/Kohler starter

Hi guys, new to this forum but not YT. I have a 1974 cub cadet model 800 with an 8 horse kohler k181 engine. Rebuilt short block, with my original head, flywheel, carb etc. I need a new starter. Mine has 10 teeth. All the websites show aftermarket starters with more teeth for this engine. The gear looks larger so will this still mesh with my flywheel/ ring gear? Is this an upgrade from the aftermarket guys? More torque? Even the kohler starters show more teeth. Any body know whats up with this? You guys never fail me with info! thanks in advance! ... Darryl
