Am looking for opinions on those 60" Elite ZTs that Tractor Supply sells. It would be for home owner use on 4 acres. I know it is a 7mph mower but most opinions I have heard say that 10mph will toss you off on your head. Good/bad points? Thanks.

You can mow with an attitude.
Use some common sense, yust because it vill go 10 or 7 miles an hour, if the ground isn't smooth as a concrete floor you should adjust your speed for the conditions.

At a glance they look H-D, but there is little H-D about them. The fabricated decks give a H-D appearance, they did put a lot of metal thickness in them but the spindles are light duty and I would have to assume so are the bearings. The engines are bottom end quality "consumer grade" and the hydros are absolutely puny, smaller than a commercial walk behind runs. 7 MPH is more than you need for mowing, not a consideration. Not saying that one wont cut your grass, just dont be fooled into thinking they are anything but what they are, a big box store throw away mower.

There are many excellent zero turn mowers. Unfortunately, Bad Boy ain"t one of them. Xmark or Dixie Chopper is the only way to go.

More to the point; I'm not a professional, at twice the price are they absolutely twice as good?

I would say that given decent care that the total cost of ownership would be less for the higher end mowers than for box store types no matter if you run them til junk or if you trade every two years, just my opinion. There isn't much middle ground anymore with mowers, commercial and $$$ or throwaways.
