Just brought home a round fender John Deere 112 with Tecumseh engine. It started fine when we loaded it up, started when I got it home and pulled it off the trailer. Drove it down to the barn and it quit! The generator light came on and it stalled. When I turn the key there is nothing, no power at all. Battery is charged, just nothing, no light on the generator, nothing?? Where do I begin, I'm not real good at electrical so I'm baffled. I checked for loose wires but everything seems OK. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks! Terry :(

Many of the 112 tractors have a fuse in wiring harness between battery terminal on starter sol & ammeter on dash check that fuse not blown, after that check that cable connections for battery are clean/tight at battery, battery terminal at starter sol & where neg(-)of battery cable connects to eng block/tractor frame, also check that small red wire that connects to sol battery terminal not loose/broken,after that check for loose/broken connections at ammeter & ign sw,beyond that you'll need a wiring diagram of tractor as problem may be other loose/bad connections or in wiring harness itself.

Use a volt meter and check your battery across the battery terminals should see 12 volts. Clean the ground cable at the battery and where it's grounded until its shiny. While you have the ground cable off clean the + pos battery terminal
and that cable of any corrosion. Then see if you can start the engine. Hal

The gear shift needs to be in neutral and PTO disengaged to turn over. No inline fuse on a Round Fender 112.

It was a good day. Took it pretty much apart and found that one of the wires on the voltage regulator, at least I think that's what it is, had broken off. Repaired it and she fired up just fine.

Next fix is the little spring gizz-mo on the bottom of the carb, it just drips fuel constantly. Seems the more I mess with it the worst it gets. Just working out the bugs..........Thanks for helping me out. :p

The little spring gizzmo has a rubber washer on the inside. It gets bad from gasoline. Lawn Boy lawn mowers use the same rubber washer on their carbs, or just punch a new one out of a old innertube.

Looking to replace the rubber gasket. Do I just remove the bolt holding the bowl on to remove it? Thanks!
