I have a Troybilt tiller that has set up for years. I rebuilt the carb. New points and condenser. It runs with a shot either but goes dead immediately. It has the 7 hp Koehler engine. Any suggestions?

If you didn't clean out & blow out internal main jet & idle passages in carb body when you rebuilt carb the most likely cause of problem is plugged/dirty passages in carb body or a bad/leaking gasket where carb mounts to block.

One other thing you can try before removing carb, open hi & low speed needles 1/2-3/4 turn(richen),needles may be set too lean.

I have seen a lot of engines ruined by the use of either.
If you have to use something use carburetor cleaner or WD40.
Sounds like it isn"t getting gas, or there is a jet plugged up, take it apart again and be sure to clean all the jets out with a lot of air and carb cleaner.

Check the gas flow from the gas tank to carburetor. The tank may be gummed up from gas sitting in the tank all those years. I would soak that carburetor in carb cleaner as it's probably gummed up too. Hal
