Plowing a little garden

I wanted to plow under the barley I planted for a cover crop. Still calling for cold weather next week here in ne MD. It was 80 on Sat and is near that here on Sunday. I have my tomato plants that I started in March in a mini greenhouse. That's our Chow Sugarbear looking through the fence. Hal

The plow is off an old Viking walk behind tractor I bought in 1960 for $15.00. When I sold the Viking I kept the plow. I had to make that frame
for the plow so I could use the sleeve hitch. Hal

Nice job plowing.

Oh great! My brother in law has same tractor and has asked me about adding implements for it.

I don't see how but if you did it, then it has to be possible. But, he wants to plow the whole front 2 acres of his yard!

Looks good Hal, and good soil too. I use a rotary plow on the front of one of my Gravelys.......don't have a picture of MY Gravely, it's still too wet

He needs a Farmall Super C with the fast hitch. Also get the two bottom fast hitch moldboard plow.
I had one back in the 1970's. I could plow a big garden quickly. Here's some of the items I made for my Wards tractor with the sleeve hitch. I made an H hitch so I could tow my lawn trailer and log splitter when needed by rotating the H hitch 180° that used the ball hitch.

The frame used for the plow was made like the hitch on the Viking. I made templates of the handles. The hardest part was bending them alike.
The cross piece near the rear is used to support the plow. The tractor had it on the handles and it was used so you could steer it, also the cultivator attachment had rollers that moved on that cross piece when steering. Hal
PS: The lever on the plow sets the point depth by tilting the point. A piece of 1/4" flat stock steel that was bent and welded. The lever is bolted on using two 1/2 cap screws.

COOL! The only thing that could make it better was if you had a DEERE tractor to go with that DEERE hat!

I had a JD 140 that I bought with a blown engine.
I installed a new short block. It was a nice tractor, but I sold it. Hal

Probably the greatest garden plow ever invented. I always wanted a rider that I could use my walk behind implements on but they are rare up here.

nice looking chow. I had a black chow her name was Sheba. She lived to be 16. Best dog We ever had.....I really miss her.

The first Chow we bought was in 2000. In 2010 she quit eating and was suffering from stomach cancer. Her name was Tazzy. I still miss her.

We bought Sug before we put Taz to sleep. You should see her run. Hal
PS: Here's Sug when a pup.

I tilled the garden this morning using my Troy Bilt tiller. The tiller started right up after sitting for 7 months. I pulled the battery last Fall. Calling for near freezing weather by Wednesday. It was 83° today in ne MD. Hal
