I have a Tecumseh TVM 195 vertical Crankshaft engine on an Ariens rear engine mower. The engine starts and runs fine while cutting grass but when I use the throttle to lower the engine speed it just keeps running at a high speed until I turn the ignition switch off.
It seems the governor shuts the throttle butterfly off but it remains running at a high speed.
Could it be that the butterfly is loose on the shaft or would some other malfunction cause this kind of problem?
I thought that perhaps someone on this forum may have experienced some of the same problems and have been able to remedy them.
I will entertain suggestions from all of you.
