Front blade on Cub Cadet

I would assume that there is a difference between front blades to fit narrow and wide frame Cub Cadet garden tractors. Am I correct in my thinking? Thanks.

Not necessarily. There were some blades that used the same blade on a different undercarriage for a narrow frame than for a wide frame. The Supers had a different series of blade.

Brendon:

IH or Cub Cadet made two dozer blades with respect to size. There was the 42" and the 54". These blades were used no matter which model.

Now comes the Sub-Frames. They had four, being:
(A) Sub Frame for the Original
(B) Sub Frame for the NF tractors - Bolt On
(C) Sub Frame for the NF tractors - Quick Attach (QA)
(D) Sub Frame for the WF tractors - Quick Attach.

You get the size of blade and proper sub-frame you want, and you will be good to go.

To answer your question simply, Yes.

However it is very easy to make a wide frame blade mount work for a quick attach narrow frame, I have converted several. If you have a welder and some 1/4"x 2 flat iron and some rod laying around you can convert them in 30 minutes and its cheaper than driving around looking for the right one. Converting a narrow frame to wide is more work but still possible.
I had bunch of blades, chains and weights that I needed to clear out of the shed, both wide and narrow. Advertised them the day we got 12" of snow back in January and could have sold 20 more, LOL.

To confuse you even more, the original cub cadet had a snow blade that was different, it had no spring release and it only would fit the original.
