Are front attachments for 3000 series compatible with 4500 series?(Blower/snowblade).Friend hss 4500,looking for 2stage blower.Found very clean unit that came off a 3000 series.Blower is 486.248381.Seller says it's"universal".Sears site not very helpful.

Hi, yes most of the snowblowers will fit but you will need a mounting kit for model of tractor you have, are you talking about GT3000 or a YT or LT?

It should fit but you may need kit for it . The 3000 is a garden tractor and 4500 is a yard tractor. The 3000 has bigger tirs and a I beam front axle which the 4500 doesn't. He will need to get chains and weights on rear. When you pick up that blower they get light on rear (especialy when backing up a incline with blower lifted).
 
OK.the blower is a Craftsman 486.248381 built by AgriFab for Sears.Appears it is a general purpose blower,with a mounting kit for 3000 series Craftsman lawn tractor 917.28924.Widower selling the blower is a bit senile and cannot find any of the papers etc. I have downloaded manual for blower,however its lacking on fitment info.
 
Hi Lefty, I could not find a mount kit for your tractor on the Sears site but the from mount P/N's are 25678 & 25679 the mid mounts are 64451 & 64452 (these are spendy) and the two rear mounting shoulder bolts are P/N 48106

Sears was not much help/but really pushed for me to buy a new $1400 blower.Called AgriFab,who built the unit.They advised unit should "bolt" right on w/o issue.Hopefully it will.
 
Hi Lefty, the mount brackets for a GT3000 are different from a YT or LT tractor, the front brackets are longer as the GT front area is beefeir than the YT/LT's the mid mts are long allowing the transmission to align with the blower the GT's are higher than the YT/LT's. Good luck with your install.
