anyone ever experience spark problems get it some times then I don"t could be running great and then just die or after its sits for a couple of months

Check for fire to your plug when it quits running.
If it has a hot spark to your plug or plugs. Install new plugs and check the plug gap. It may have electronic ignition that's causing the engine to stop. Hal

As Hal said as soon as eng stops check for spark at plugs,if no spark & this eng has a 12v ign system,with a vom/12v test lite & ign sw in on/run position check for +12v at pos(+)terminal of coil,if you have voltage then points are probably dirty & need cleaning or contacts on same are pitted/burned and points need replacement.

IF you don't have voltage at pos(+)terminal of coil with ign sw in on/run position,kohler used 2 different style 12v coil on this mod eng,if terminals for plug wires are located on top of coil this coil required an inline ballast resistor in series with coil primary,locate resistor & check connections to same,connections may be loose/bad or internal connections or resistor going bad,check resistor with an ohmmeter.

IF plug wire terminals are located on side of coil check wiring between ign sw & coil terminal,this style coil did not require an ext ballast resistor,with either system check operation of ign sw with an ohmmeter,you may just have an ign sw going bad or a wiring problem between sw/coil.

IF this eng has a wico or fairbanks-morse ext mounted magneto,goto link below & download service/repair manual for a K482,in ign section it will tell you how to check/service both make magnetos.

If this tractor has an auto reset circuit breaker connected to 1 side of ammeter,try bypassing breaker,same may be going bad,if breaker is going bad replace with a blade type auto fuse & holder,I wouldn't go over 15A on fuse unless fuse blows with pto/lights on,then increase to 20A.
