Any info regarding a Toro Wheel Horse 520H garden tractor with 20 HP Onan engine and 923 hours with a 48 inch mower, and 48 inch blade would be appreciated.Im not familiar with Onan engines. What would a good purchase price be for a unit with above characteristics that is in good operational condition? Any info good or bad would be appreciated. Thank you in advance for your response,it is appreciated.

I have one.
It's a good tractor.
They are prone to electrical problems. Especially the nine pin plug under the battery box and the fuse box. Direction control lever tend to slip back towards neutral and need to be adjusted.
The Onan engine is a fine engine but, it's very expensive to repair.
Many people will just re-power with a different make engine if the need arises. They tend to have valve seats that loosen up. They may snap a connecting rod. They will continue to run on one cylinder. Just be under powered.
I feel mine is really just a big mower rather than a true garden tractor. But, I do not have the optional rear hitch.
The dozer blade requires an extension to mount to the rear axel.
The early models did not have a swept forward front axel. Or, gear reduction steering.
The engine must be kept clean. If this is not done it may over heat. The carb tends to get grit in it which causes the rpm's to surge and die back.
Value depends on year of manufacture, condition and location.
Any where from $300 to $2500 around here.

Here's one I gave $495. for with a 48" deck, plow and like new blower, that's what the guy wanted for it, I didn't argue with him. I had to put head gaskets in it and new seals.
I also have a 518 that I just use to mow with. Keep the motor really clean and fix any oil leaks to keep it running cool, I have some problems with usually atleast one interlock switch a year, should repl them all I guess and usually once a year one of the engines will start surging, remove air cleaner and plastic baffle over carb and spray inside of carb top and blow out with compressed air.
My 518 has over 1300 hours and the 520 1200 hrs.
I think there a nice tractor, maybe you can get a price idea on Ebay completed sales.

Thanks to all who replied. I spoke to the owner today and he said when they started it last they heard an engine knock. Could this be a broken rod? Any other thoughts about an engine knock?

Bought one 3-4 years ago on Flea Bay, it has the 48" two stage snow blower, 50" rear discharge deck chains and wheel weights, gave like $1,600 for it. It has been used (previous owner was a builder) but hasn't given me much grief other than a battery and a pick up on the electronic ignition. Much nicer for moving snow than the Cub Cadets
