I have a Cub Cadet 1000 put new clutch in it,adjusted it just like the cub mannual says to but no matter how hard I try when I press the clutch pedal in it will not stop turning. I can see daylighr between the clutch plates, but the shaft continues to turn,I can hold it by hand but soon as I let go it continues to turn. can someone help me with this problen as I have tried every thing the Cub Cadet manual say to do and After 6 months nothing works. I am about at wits end. Thanks very much for any advice on this tractor. I forgot to mention all parts including the pilot bearing are new. Thanks again.

Check your motor mounts, they may be worn enough to put the drive line in a bine. Another thing to check is that the drive shaft is turning free in the pilot bushing.

My first thought is that the bushing is dry or binding where the front of the driveshaft sticks in the ball socket in the adapter bolted to the engine flywheel.

This may not apply to the CC, but I know that the Bolens tube frame tractors have a brake on the driveshaft that engages when you press down on the clutch.

It that brake isn't adjusted properly or worn out, the driveshaft will still turn enough to make changing gears a real PITA.

You may want to check to see if your CC has something similar.
