Gravely walk behind

OK, I used my Gravely Tractor with the snow thrower to clear my drive way. But if you remember I was having problems. The carburetor wasn't working right, and also had trouble with the high/low range. The carburetor was leaking, and placed a plastic container under to catch the leaking gas. Noticed the next day there was ice in the bottom of the plastic container. Went to Wal-Mart as they have a large selection of products to choose from. Ended up buying Lucas Oil Product Safeguard. It's a Ethanol fuel conditioner with stabilizers. Placed a cap full into gas tank, and waited a day. Took the tire off to tinker with the high/low range as it wouldn't stay in low range. Made it worse by placing a spring onto that shaft. Should have listen to you guys and tighten by up the linkage like you said. I had fiddled with it in the fall and thought it was all set. Nope! As I may have mentioned before I am not the sharpest tack in the box. It works great. Thank you.

Glad you got the tranny issue fixed. The Gravely carb is pretty simple if it needs a rebuild.

If that's a square chute blower you have, you have a real monster. I used to use mine on a stone lot. Every now and then it would pick up a rock about tennis ball size and chuck it well over 100 feet!

i am having linkage problem, i think. where can i find the information that you have?

i believe that i need to adjust linkage as i have done so before and did not understand.

Hi Bret, Ya I hear you. I have a gravel driveway
and hate it when I have to go out to service
machinery in the winter and the little woman has
to call and have the driveway plowed. It get's
ruined, plus the lawn get's all torn up. I don't
know what chute I have, but it will throw rocks as
big as your fist. It's dangerous! I had that all a
part too as the screws that hold it on were all
broken.
Have you had to fix your Gravely lately?
Have a Happy New Year!!
Bob

Hi Ken, I just look up Gravely Tractor Manuals. What you want is service manual, and it should be in there. Have you tried to tighten up on the springs? We don't know what model you have, is it a walk behind?
Bob

GO TO 'GRAVELY TRACTOR CLUB OF America" web site. On the first page is a listing for manuals and service books. ANYTHING you could possibly want to know about your Gravely is in there!!! I have downloaded maybe a third of it and it was a boat load of stuff. Go there now..go on..NOW. Jeffcat

Hi Bret,
Happy New Year. OK, thank you. So have you ever
gotten to the point where you have to replace the
old clutches?
