hi all, for some odd reason the hydro on my 140 quit working. just all of a sudden it stopped! deck will not raise or lower and no fwd. or reverse. i checked fluid level. it was down to the add mark, so i did add to the full mark. restarted engine and still the same thing. any ideas??? thanks-happy

I do believe you have a drive-shaft problem.May be wore out and stripped out the key-way on either end.Check to see if the drive-shaft is turning the rear unit.

The hardware may have even backed out that holds the adapter in place.I'm just speculating.Trying to give you some points of interest.

If it is not a failure in the drive shaft area, to get an informed answer, you will have to tell us if the serial # is below or above 30,000, as the hydros are COMPLETELY different at that point.

Sheared the roll pin that holds the flex. coupling to the drive shaft on my Cub Cadet a few yeras back replaced the pin and good to go been at least 3 yrs.
