O/T Compression Specs for a Lawnboy Lawnmower

I have an older Lawnboy Lawn Mover, model 8253. I was wondering what the normal compression reading should be and what is the minimal acceptable reading. I used as compression gauge no it and got just over 50 psi. I'm thinking this maybe too low. Motor was running then quit and will not restart. Has good spark, seems to be getting fuel. Primer bulb checked out okay. Wi;; not start even with starting fluid, seems to try but no go.
Thanks,
Bill

Remove the spark plug put your thumb against the hole and pull the rope, it should blow your thumb off of the hole. It is a good idea to either ground the plug wire, or turn the switch off, of course you can check for fire at the plug by leaving it switch on. :)

most reed port two cycle engine should have a minumum of 90 PSI to be effective and run with decent power
