What tractors also used the B/S cast iron motors

I picked up a Sears suburban with the 15 HP Briggs and Stratton cast iron motor that is missing some of the throttle parts,I think those motors on the Sears were kind of a couple year use and not much luck finding the parts when looking for sears parts. I know other tractors probably used them so anyone know which ones did have those big B/S cast iron motors.

What throttle parts are you looking for, there were / are some differences between the makes. You are right the Sears Suburbans only used the B&S 2 yrs. Are you looking for the throttle lever in the dash, or the clip that holds the cable to the bracket on the engine, or the rod the goes to the governor linkage? Maybe post a pic of your system.

MTD built a tractor using that engine (model 990 I think) for several private brands. Great tractor too, totally unlike the current MTD stuff.

Jeff the the threaded rod( P/N 691761) goes into the aft (small) hole, a governor adjusting nut P/N 691584 screws on to the rod the nut has a hole thur it and the throttle cable comes up the larger hole and is bent 90 degrees and goes into the hole in the adjuster nut. There is a clip the holds the throttle cable in place, but the cable can be wired in place if you can't find a clip The Gilson G15 and the MW 14 - 16 hp engines used that type of throttle set up.

I do not have the correct throttle and cable so until I get the correct parts I am going to fabricate something to work,I have been watching on ebay since I bought it and nothing so far and since it was a short run with this motor it might be some time before the correct parts show up. The next time I get to a dealer I will bring along those part numbers and see if the parts are available still.

Hi Jeff the Simplicity's and Aliis used that engine and they did it a bit different on them the is an "L" shaped bracket that mts to one of the intake bolts the throttle cable come over the top is attached to the "L" bracket and the cable then attaches to that vertical governor rod, you can see a hole in that rod about half way down, but the governor rod still needs to come up thur the hole and have a nut on it but a regular nut will work. If my brothers Simplicity was close I take a pic to show how it works and its as good a system as the other.
