have a gravely gem 16 did not use for about 1 year put in fresh gas started right up runs good but when you let brake up it stalls step on brake starts right up any information would help thanks

Check operation of seat sw with an ohmmeter/battery powered test light,next check operation of control relay & time delay relay,you may have bad/corroded contacts in relays or one of the relays not working,if tractor stored in an outdoor shed/under tarp outside check wiring harness carefully,mice may have built a nest/chewed insulation on wires & same shorting to chassis.
