power king 18/16 engine swap

I recently acquired a Onan CCKB 19.5HP engine and
was wondering if this engine could possibly be squeezed into a 1993 plastic power king I have. The
Kohler engine in there now is running fine,but I thought of using the Onan when and if the Koher ever
died. Any comments on what kind of problems might
occur if I tried the transplant.Thanks
 
Most engine mounting holes in the frame are similar in their spacing. But it would be best to check that. I have swapped engines from one make of lawn tractor to another make, and the holes matched up, in the frame pan. I can't say for sure that your idea will work, but i'd think it wwould. RJ
 
Check the type of ign system on onan eng,if eng has point type ign the cck series had points/mag or points/12v coil depending on application eng was used for previously.

If eng has points/mag ign then existing wiring will probably work with eng.If eng has points/12v coil ign then ign sw will have to be changed to a battery type ign sw & some wiring on tractor for safety sw's will have to be changed or disconnected BEFORE connecting battery & trying to start eng 1st time after swap or you may end up blowing fuses/burning up tractor wiring harness the 1st time ign sw turned on.
 
I had one a few years back, that some one put a Onan engine in it.
They didn't do a very neat job of it, the muffler had to be rerouted and they cut the hood some.
But it worked ok.
