I recently acquired a Cub Cadet 782 with 44" mower deck, snow blower and cab. What model tiller was an option for same? Thanks in advance

Well, that is a qualifying question. The 782 had a transformation during it's production run. From serial number 665001 to 719999, the IH designed and built rear end, used a Tiller 2B.

IF the chassis serial number was 720000 or higher, then Cub Cadet went to an aluminum rear end and the above tiller would not work.

CCC made an adapting plate and went to a 8HP self contained tiller 190-400-100.

You will need the front pulley set-up from a 38" mower to run the belt. The 44/50 mule has angled pulley's, 38" is straight.

"R Bedell"; the tractor serial number is 2050594U665686. Could you please tell me what all this means; I'm guessing the last six digits are the serial number. Thanks

That is the actual serial number which indicates the tractor is one of the early 782's built by IH. It should have the red colored cast iron rear end.

You can make tillers 1, 1A, & 2 work on a 782 by simply changing the Drive Pulley on the Gear Box from 3/8" to 5/8". This is what tiller 2B did.
