Cub Cadet 1000

I am having trouble geting my clutch set on my cub 1000. The clutch/brake petal is set according to the manual,but when I push the petal down and the clutch seperates on the shaft (I can see it seperate) the shaft will not quit turning so you can put it in gear, but you can hold the shaft by hand and than shift gears.All parts are new (clutch, springs, shaft,etc. Any help will be appreciated greatly.

I will admit to knowing NOTHING about the CC 1000.

When you are talking about the brake being adjusted, are you talking about one for the tractor itself or one for the drive shaft?

What you are describing sounds like the same thing that happens with the old Bolens tube frames when the brake on the DRIVESHAFT isn't working/adjusted properly.

Did you replace or lube the pilot bearing in the end of the crankshaft? If not then it could be binding at the pilot bearing which would keep the drive shaft rotating
