fellow has a 1949 wheel horse tractor. only 60 made, i understand. what is approximate worth, he wishes to know?

It's worth a fortune! As they didn't make them until about 1956! If it was made after they started making them, than, maybe $50 to $300? Depending on condition. If he has a Pond tractor, than that's a different story.

You made me go look through my wheel horse stuff. In 1947 Elmer Pond built a tractor to do his lawn, ten years later Elmer and son Cecil started their company, Wheel Horse named after their most dependable horse on the team..
So it looks like 1957 was the first year of production. I had a 59 and it was pretty crude equipment, now I have a 1966,68 and two 1988s.

Can anyone help me find a trans. for a 1960 wheel horse, may be a 550 not sure. it is the 5010 transmission , one piece casting with two side plates. thanks
