i just bought a bolens st 180 and the deck belt is just about shot it is a 42" deck and the model # on the deck is 30042s or a 5 at the end. every place i call want s he serial #of the tractor and is under the seat but there is nothing there. i thought some one here could help me

If the belt is still there take it off and go to some place like NAPA and they will sell you a belt the size you need.

I would do the same as Harvey said. If you a shop that sells and rebuilds electric motors may have it. That is where I get most of my belts and they are a better grade of belt than what the deck manufactures use.

Look under the hood. I think Bolens printed the belt sizes under there.

But, yes, if the belt is intact, any good parts place can measure and sell you a new one.

Don't use a regular auto belt. I use a blue belt from my local hardware store.

I use Gates Green striped belts when there's a lot of declutching and clutch engaging. I have one my Troy Bilt tiller that's been on there 7 years. They cost a few dollars more. Any store that sells Gates belts should have them. Take the old belt along. Hal
