One for the brain trust: Ive had my Cub Cadet M50KHS since 2006, has about 230 or so trouble free hours on it, until earlier this year. I have developed a leak on the right side transmission which has progressively gotten worse over the summer, and I seriously need to fix it now. I haven"t pulled the wheel to get a good look at it yet, but I think it may be coming from between the cover plate and main body. Ive looked at parts breakdowns and such til Im blue in the face and cant find the answer Im looking for: Is there a gasket between the 2 sections or is it just sealed with silicon or the like?

Best thing to do is check with a local cub dealer,he may have a service notice from factory as this may be a common problem on this mod mower.

Planning on it today. Just trying to get my ducks in a row before calling them. The best dealer closed a few weeks ago, and the only other one I would/could use isn't the best in the world. She always asks for a part number!

Without going to actual cc website & checking at several online site's I had same experience as you as all sites only showed complete left/right drive assemblies & no actual assembly drawing/parts list with case half's seperated, looking at complete drive assembly it appears there is a gasket between half's but weather a fiber gasket or rtv sealer is anybody's guess.

I did find one site that had a breakdown of it, could have been the CC website, I dont recall at the moment. It didnt show a gasket at all, in fact it didnt show any gaskets, but did have 2 "Not Shown" items: Gasket, as it said, and Sealant, as it said. Got about another hour to wait before dealer opens, then Ill call them.
