john deere with kawasaki coil question

I have a john deere I think LX 440. It has a V twin kawasaki with a bad coil. I hooked up a car coil to verify that it was the coil and it ran fine. Question: would it be ok to leave the car coil on it since I already have it or could it damage the ignition module? This is the first kawasaki I"ve been around and have NO experience with it.

Thanks in advance

Charlie

I do not know for sure but expect that using the car coil would likely damage the ignition module. The primary current requirement would be much higher for the car coil I would think.
